Indian magazines and print culture in general have been studied more thoroughly for the colonial period, but 1950s–1970s rightly called golden age of magazine culture. In Hindi literary lore, loom large as main platform literature, where poets fiction writers found readers recognition critics debated aesthetics ideology. To borrow Amit Chaudhuri’s phrase, were sites intense ‘literary activism’: an activism by editors on behalf literature to champion new encourage readers’ tastes, also a constant critical interrogation value function literature.
